South Belt and beyond.
We meet every Sunday at 2:00 PM except Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, Christmas and New Year’s Day. It is one of the oldest continuously operating grief support groups in the Houston Area, having started in 1996. We are located at 1062 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas 77504.
What to expect. We introduce ourselves and talk about how we coped during the week. The Facilitator may read an article about dealing with grief or suggest a topic to discuss. Each individual may share any feelings, experiences or memories they feel comfortable in sharing. Sometimes, they may not feel like sharing or talking. That’s OK! No one offers advice or tells you how you should be grieving. Everyone is given the opportunity to talk without interruption. We end our meeting by joining hands and saying The Lord’s Prayer.
No group or counselor can make grief disappear, but sharing helps to lessen the pain
Grief is not a disorder, a disease, or a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical, and spiritual necessity. It is the price you pay for love. The only cure for grief is to grieve.
